Prairie Storm

As it transpires I was a little too optimistic last week when I spoke of "sunsets and starlight shoots in the mountains".  Covid 19 continues to direct our behaviours and, even though my self isolation is complete, I am not able to escape to the mountains owing to government closures.  As I said last week, this virus will pass, there are more serious issues in the world right now than getting to the mountains to shoot.  I'm very fortunate that I am able to withstand the financial impact of the restrictions imposed by the virus and my greatest issue is where to find new content for the blog. 

I have had a great time this week looking through old images and rekindling the associated memories. One image that struck me was this shot of a storm approaching an abandoned prairie home by the roadside in Saskatchewan. I made the shot on a prairie road trip in September 2017 and it sat on the hard drive unnoticed. But this week I suddenly saw it differently and immediately thought of a monochrome conversion which really brought life to the shot. Some nice thirds, light and shadow and contrast make for a lovely conversion.  I'll scour the hard drive for more...........
