Commission a Photo Shoot
When considering a photographer for a specific topic it is always wise to check their image portfolio to give you an understanding of the quality and style of their work. A selection of my images are available under the 'portfolio' tab above or directly by clicking here.
If you feel the quality and style of my work would meet your needs then we would sit down together over coffee for your free consultation and discuss your requirements in greater detail. At this meeting information is key, what are your overall objectives, where will the images be used, what size and format is required (if such requirements are absolute) For instance; will images be shown on the web in small sizes, if so any people shown in the images would need to be much larger in the frame to be recognisable so, format matters.
We would need to discuss how many days (or half days) would be required to undertake the shoot, potentially including photographer's assistant, pre shoot reconnaissance of the location, any additional lighting or specialist equipment rentals required, models and makeup artists, restrictions inherent to the location, post processing etc.
Commissioned photography is generally licensed and the terms of that license would also be agreed in specific detail prior to the shoot. Such details broadly involve the media in which the images will be used (Print,Web, Billboard, Packaging etc) the duration of that usage (1 year, 5 years, perpetual) the geographical spread (global, national or local) and the audience it will receive (public, business to business, corporate internal only etc)
There is a lot to think of, editing, colour and tone (if you have 1 person in red and 5 in dark shades the one in red will grab the attention of the viewer), perhaps a list of images you have visualised or feel should be made, brightness and contrast (adding text a bright image may make reading the text difficult)
It may seem a little daunting but I will ensure we cover all the necessary topics and that I provide you with a written brief and contract which we will agree upon before any work is undertaken.
Rather than have me write a thousand word essay you're not going to read, click the 'contact' tab above and let's talk through the process during your free consultation.
