People & Portraits
A portrait doesn't have to be in a studio or your local park, all wearing the same colour shirts and smiling through your troubles to make a record of passing time. A portrait should be an intimate moment in your life and should aim to capture who you are at that moment, or perhaps who you want to be for that moment. As we grow we are in constant change, we're not just an older version of the same person. We are more experienced, we know more about ourselves and about the world in which we live and capturing that will provide a far greater memory in later years.
Sometimes we want to be someone else, to wear a long ball gown in the forest at dusk and be photographed under fading light with a dramatic single spot illuminating the scene. Occasionally we might want to go mad and be covered in paint, glitter, flowers, water or anything else that comes to mind at the time. We might want to hide in shadow, behind a veil or stand in a crowded street with arms aloft basking in the attention.
