Coyote Captured

Out for a day shooting snow scenes with a friend when we came across this beautiful coyote curled up on top of a snow drift.

We were both surprised when he didn't scoot off as soon as we raised our cameras, but thankfully he didn't and we were able to make quite a few images before he became fed up with the attention and wandered off.

Having that bit of time (which is rarely available for wildlife shooting) allowed me to think about composition resulting in a nice rule of thirds and blurred background making him pop out of the image perfectly.

Night Workshop - Calgary

It was my pleasure to lead another 'one night workshop' in Calgary this week shooting cityscapes, the beautiful calgary tower and of course the peace bridge which I still use as a header on this site. Though it was a cold night we had fun and got some more great images of the city.

Even though it is something I've shot and posted quite often I opted for this image of the internal structure of the peace bridge as my choice for today. The calgary tower lit up in blue and the light streaks across centre street bridge came close to making the blog but ultimately I found myself drawn back to this incredible structure.
